House - Office Work

Title: Office Work
Pairing: Cameron/House
Rating: NC-17

He walked into the lab where his protégés were hard at work trying to determine the nature of today's mystery illness. He'd ordered them to run just about every test known to medicine on the patient because of the inexplicable combination of symptoms.

"Well?" he asked. "What have we found?"

"Brain scan was clear," Foreman reported.

"Blood work showed slightly elevated triglycerides," Chase said. "But nothing that would explain any of the symptoms we've been witnessing."

"Calls to family members and co-workers have not given any leads," Cameron added. "No one that has been in contact with the patient in the last three weeks has experienced any of the symptoms or had any other type of illness. None of them have traveled outside of the country and they all said the patient has not either."

"Did you get in contact with the patient's previous doctors and request copies of all previous medical treatment?"

"I had the patient sign the HIPAA waivers and I faxed them to the doctors she reported having seen. I haven't received any charts back yet though."

"Have you followed up?"

"I haven't had time yet because I was making the friends and family calls. I can do it now."

"Foreman, you make those follow up calls and make sure we have those records within the hour. And Chase, do some research to see what possible illnesses could cause a spike in triglyceride levels. Cameron, I want to see you in my office." He turned and walked out before anyone could question his instructions.

"Wow, he's extremely cranky today," Chase remarked.

"I can't believe he wants to see you in his office because you've been too busy to follow up," Foreman said. "It's not like you went to get your hair done instead of making the calls."

Cameron shrugged. "He probably just needs someone to yell at. It's no big deal. I'll be back."

She knocked before entering his office.

"Come in."

She walked in to find him engrossed in a video game. She stood next to his desk, watching him play, waiting for him to speak to her.

"Damn!" he exclaimed as the game played some music. "I died."

"Sorry to hear that," she commented with an amused grin. "You wanted to see me?"

He ignored her question, stood up and walked over to the door to his office. He checked that the blinds were closed and locked the door. That accomplished, he walked back to where she stood.

"Why Dr. House, why ever would you need to lock your door?" she asked, a seductive note entering her voice.

"So we're not disturbed, Dr. Cameron," he replied, mocking her tone. "We wouldn't want anyone else to be privy to our… conversation."

"Very true," she said, her breath catching as his lips grazed her neck.

"What did the boys say?" he mumbled as his lips found their way to her ear, causing a small moan to escape from her lips.

"They said… that you were… very cranky…" she managed to get out between pants as his lips continued to tease her earlobe.

He chuckled and finally caught her mouth with his own. They kissed passionately for several minutes and then he lifted her so she was sitting on the edge of his desk. He slid her lab coat off her shoulders and his fingers found his way under the hem of her t-shirt, sending goose bumps through her entire body.

She managed to get her hands between them and unbuttoned his shirt, running her hands through the thick hair on his chest.

He undid the clasp on her bra and began to trace circles around her nipples with his thumbs. She pulled him closer and wrapped her legs around his waist, almost knocking him off balance.

"Careful not to injure the cripple," he murmured at her mouth with a slight chuckle. She lightly slugged his arm in response as she deepened the kiss again, unable to get close enough to him.

Her hands found his belt buckle and undid it with ease. It was his turn to let out a small moan as she undid the button and zipper of his trousers and found that he wasn't wearing anything underneath.

He broke the kiss then and lifted her t-shirt up around her neck. He gathered her breasts in his hands and began to lightly circle his tongue around her nipples. She arched her back to allow him better access, but maintained her sensual massage of his groin.

"It's a damn good thing you're wearing a skirt today," he panted as he planted kisses across her stomach. He stood up straight and started kissing her again, his hands sliding up underneath the skirt and hooking around the sides of the bikini panties she wore. Effortlessly, he slid them down until they were dangling by her ankles.

She stopped her ministrations and pushed his trousers down so they were around his own ankles. He pulled her ass to the very edge of the desk and she wrapped her legs tighter around his waist as he slid easily inside her.

Forty minutes later, she returned to the lab, her cheeks slightly flushed. Chase and Foreman gave her concerned looks.

"Are you okay?" Foreman asked. "He had you in there forever."

She nodded, desperate to keep a grin from breaking out across her face. They'd been seeing each other for almost three months now and so far, they'd managed to keep it a secret from everyone in the hospital. This was the fourth time they'd taken a mid day break in his office and it was getting harder and harder for her to pretend like she was angry with him.

"You shouldn't have to put up with his attitudes like that," Chase said, commiserating with her.

She shrugged and began reviewing the notes she had made on their current case.

Chase and Foreman exchanged a glance. They were both starting to worry about Cameron. She had been different since she almost quit, but neither could put a finger on how or why.

House entered the lab again. "Foreman, did you get me those records?"

"Yes, sir," he replied, handing House a stack of pages that had been faxed over. "The lab report on top might interest you."

House read it over quickly. He looked up and shot a glance at Chase. "You said her triglycerides were slightly elevated, right?"

He nodded.

"Cameron, did any of the people you talked to mention if they had a pet snake?"

She rifled through her notes, her brows furrowed. "Actually, yes," she said, meeting his gaze. "Her younger brother does. Why?"

"Come on, we need to get her started on some IV antibiotics and we need to find an anti-venom. We also need to find the spot where the snake bit her."

They all walked out of the lab together. House hung back and managed a squeeze of Cameron's ass as they walked out the door.
